the Case Not Closed
Codename: None.
Real name: Eisuke Hondou.
First appearance: Manga Book 49 -Files 08-10 Episode 429-430
Age: 17 approximately.

Family: His mother was house keeper for the rich Okudaira family, and lived in their mansion (in Haido district) with Eisuke. During this time, Hidemi Hondou, his elder sister, was said to have been studying abroad, and his dad, Ethan Hondou, to be working in Osaka. When his mother died, nearly 10 years before canon (Eisuke: 7 or 8), Eisuke went to live with his father for a couple of years. After this, Ethan went "overseas" and since, Eisuke has been living with one of Ethan's friends, receiving an allowance.

So Mom dies when Eisuke is around 7 or 8, Sis vanishes shortly after, and Dad "vanishes" when he is 13/14.

Dad is in fact *dead*, the BO believe Kir killed him (4 years ago), in truth, Ethan arranged for Kir/Rena/Hidemi to appear to have killed him, while he shot himself telling her what to say and to take over his mission, all to save her life.

Ethan was a CIA agent who had infiltrated the Black Organisation.
Hidemi became one too, and has been infiltrated in the BO for longer than she would have liked.

Eisuke comes to Tokyo to investigate this "Rena Mizunashi" who so looks like his sister. He suspects "Rena" is someone using Hidemi's face, and decides she is his only clue to finding Hidemi again. He then confronts her, finds out she is his sister, and then is basically told by Conan and FBI to go away, they have big fish to talk about. 8D

He is offered Witness Protection Program, but it appears he has/will(?) refused.

On his mother: "Your mother was such a wonderful house-keeper! She was considerate and always had a smile on her face..."

Eisuke's blood group is, at birth: OO, post surgery: AB+.
Hidemi's blood group is AB+. She gave blood to Eisuke shortly after his arrival in Osaka, when he got into an accident.

Character Study: Miyano Akemi
00:55 Mon 28 May 2007

the Case Not Closed
Codename: None, but went by the alias of Hirota Masami.
Real name: Miyano Akemi 宮野明美
First appearance: book 02 file 004, episode 14.
Age: Estimated to be 25 at time of her death. (7 years Sherry's elder.)
Family: Miyano Helena & Atsushi for parents, both deceased, Miyano Shiho for younger sister.

Appearance: When she first appears, she purposely dresses as a young high school girl, with pig ties and big round glasses, so as to fool Kogoro Mouri into believing she is Hirota Kenzou's father. Later on we notice that she wears make up and has more adult clothing. In the flashbacks that feature her she is a pretty young woman with black hair and a part to the right, who tends to wear smart business lady like clothing.

Role: Akemi died under the name Hirota Masami after the organization convinced her to steal a billion Yen for them, in exchange of letting her and her sister leave the syndicate. It was in fact a ploy to eliminate her. She died in Conan's arms.
The police, upon investigating her death, concluded it was suicide because of evidence the BO had planted.
We later on learn that Shuichi Akai, under the assumed name Moroboshi Dai, became her boyfriend in an attempt to infiltrate the Organisation. She realized he was FBI, but pretended not to. When the Organisation found out he was a mole, Akemi & Shiho were moved out of his reach. It is suspected her connection with Akai is the real motive behind her death.

Tools: Her Fake name she borrowed from her professor at Nanyo University, Masami Hirota(book 18/19), she gave Kogoro Mouri fake contact details, which she prevented him from using by always calling him first. In the anime, she managed to hide the money she stole for Gin and Vodka thanks to a fake locker key. Tears were used to motivate Mouri. Gin & Vodka gave her cyanide to use on her giant accomplice telling her it was a sedative.

Cases with this character:
Book 2 file 4-7, Episode 14/128*; Book 19 file 7, Episode ???; Book 18 file 10, Episode ???; Book 41/42 files 10-1, Episode ???; Book 42 file 10, Episode 345; Book 58 file 2, Episode ???; tbc...

& Movie 5.

*Episodes marked with this symbol indicate a divergence in between the anime and the manga. Most often it translates as the anime removing the BO members (Vodka & Gin) and replacing them with avatars that will be caught. Episode 128 is a "plot fixer" that features Gin & Vodka, but uses a different story line to the manga to end up with a similar result.

*Fanon for this character:
*Fanon is "Fan created fact" as opposed to Canon which is Official fact.
- Akemi being Shuichi Akai's girlfriend seems to be a Fanon that Became Canon.

Character Study: GIN

AFFILIATION - Black Organisation

Codename: GIN ジン - FBI target name, or at least Akai's nickname for him seems to be Koibito (Enemy/Girlfriend).
Real name: rumoured to be Jin KUROSAWA 黒澤陣
*(according to an interview)
First appearance: book 01 file 001
Age: Unknown.

Appearance: Tall, broad shoulders and thin, his most distinctive features are his long discoloured/dirty-blonde hair, his shallow cheeks and cold glare. Never seen without his black hat, black trench coat, and light blue high-neck top. He is also left handed and a frequent smoker.
Since file 01 of book 49 aka episode 425, Gin sports a scar on his cheek bone just below his left eye.

Role: Gin is the known arch nemesis of the series. The "man to get" as it is. Whenever he appears, one knows it is serious business. He is the opponent that seems impossible to trick, the one who can sense the presence of a traitor or a fox from the slightest clue. He also seems to have an amazingly good instinct, which makes for some very tense moments.
His role in the Organisation seems to be one of responsibility. He is always seen as an inspector and the mastermind behind plans.

Tools: Gin, like Vodka, is rarely seen without his Gun & Silencer. He also has a mobile phone, gloves, and portable computer devices. His trade mark, however, is his Porsche 346 A. For other tools used on the series, see article on Organization Tools. (**To be created.)

- Vodka and Gin are siblings. Not used that often, but if you see it, know it's Fanon. Unless the Author suddenly pulls that out of his hat. XD

AFFILIATION - Black Organization

Codename: Vodka ウォッカ
Real Name: rumoured to be "Saburo UODZUKA" 魚塚三郎
*(according to an interview and one image from the Mermaid's Flesh case book 28, file 8 page 12 - Episodes 222-224)
Age: Unknown

Appearance: Tall, strongly built, recognizable by his sunglasses and distinctive jaw/chin. He is usually seen wearing a black business suit with a reddish-brown shirt, black tie and black hat.
He has only once been seen in any other guise, in book 42 (episode 345), and that was basically pretty similar to his usual, but minus the Hat and Glasses, which were replaced by a Zombie mask.

Role: Despite the Fan-made assumption that Vodka is, to put it crudely, *stupid*, Vodka does seem to play a crucial role in the organisation. He can act independently. He is seen acting as a liaison between various members and Gin (for example: Tequila), and has been seen acting on his own (Itakura Case, books 37-38, episode 329). However it is true that his role in the series so far has been pretty much limited to that of "Gin's sidekick." Whenever Vodka appears, we know Gin is not far, and on some occasions we have seen Vodka "messing up" only to be put right by Gin. Vodka accomplishes many tasks under Gin's orders, (which would indicate that he *is* competent,) and more often then not, we see the two discussing recent events in Gin's car.

Tools: Vodka without his Gun & Silencer isn't Vodka. He also has a mobile phone, and has used other tools in the series. See article on Organization Tools. (**To be created.)
